Do you feel unworthy when it comes to money?Remember when you were a kid and all you needed to know about money was that it was fun to have and that it could buy you things that you wanted? Life was good.
Then at some point along the way, money started to seem serious, perhaps elusive, and more like a necessary evil in your life. It became something that you got into arguments about - something you found yourself worrying about at night - and something that could leave you thinking, "What's wrong with me? Will I ever have a peaceful relationship with money?"
There are few things that are as painful as struggling in a primary relationship. Oftentimes it's with people (partner, mother, father, children, friends), but other times the close relationship that you're struggling with is an inanimate object like money.
If you're struggling to have a peaceful relationship with money, you're not to blame. And neither is anyone else. It's not about blame. (Though the mind loves to think that it is.)
Your struggles with money are simply caused by a misunderstanding about money and how it flows. If this is a new concept to you, it's not surprising.
There are accounting classes, economics classes, and business classes, but developing a healthy relationship with money just isn't covered in traditional schooling.
So you and money wound up in an arranged marriage of sorts - and you were left to figure out a way to get along together. But after all these years, you still find yourself struggling to have a peaceful relationship together. Could it be that there are some things about your partner (money) that you still don't really understand?
| If you don't want to get tangled up in your relationship with money, you need to understand how money moves - just like double dutch jumpers understand how the ropes move. |
You've seen kids who jump 2 ropes simultaneously, right? Two kids spin the ropes in opposite directions. Then a 3rd kid watches the ropes carefully and jumps in (and keeps jumping!) while skillfully avoiding getting tangled. It's pretty amazing - and not an easy task.
They call this game Double Dutch.
In order to get into flow with money in your life, you need to understand how money moves before you jump in and try to interact with it. If you're not clear about how money moves, then you won't be getting the results that you want and you'll be frustrated in your dealings with money. Sometimes you can even be blocking the flow of money because you're not making room for it to flow freely.
So how can you get clearer about how money moves?
There are all sorts of programs out there about how to get more money, but if you don't have a clear understanding of money in the first place, then the actions you take will be coming from a lack of clarity which can be scary and nerve-wracking.
Doesn't it make sense to work with your relationship with money from the inside out? Then whatever actions you take in relation to money can come from clarity instead of confusion.
In just one month from now...
"Just a quick hello and an expression of thanks to you for your insightful, wonderful teleclass. You inspire confidence with your voice and your kind words. I admire how participants open themselves to you and how you gently take them to their truth."

This home study course focuses on the 5 ways that money flows and is designed to give you a closer look into the areas that people tend to get blocked and stuck with. Here's a peek into the curriculum...

| There are 5 flows of money that you need to be aware of: Giving, Receiving, Offering, Taking, and Stillness. As you get familiar with them, you'll be able to flow *with* them, instead of against them. |
There are two ways to do anything. You can do it out of confusion, or you can do it out of clarity. Giving is no different. You can have a clear, balanced relationship with giving. Or you can have a confused, unbalanced relationship with giving.
When you're not in tune with the flow of giving, you may be holding onto your money because you're scared of not having enough in the future. Or you may be giving money as an attempt to manipulate other people and make yourself feel better.
But when you can get into a right relationship with the way giving happens in your life, your relationship with money can feel more balanced and harmonious.
One of the most common struggles people have around money is they have an unbalanced relationship with receiving. There's been so much emphasis in cultures that people should feel bad for what they have, and they shouldn't have as much as they have.
Issues around self-worth, shame, embarrassment, and guilt can taint the way you look at your finances. And when you're beating yourself up and not feeling good about yourself, it becomes that much more challenging to engage in a healthy relationship with money because money is seen as the problem.
But receiving is a part of a well-balanced relationship with money. Receiving is an appropriate response when something is given.
Getting in harmony with offering is about making it possible for others to interact with you. Imagine having a party and not serving any food or drinks. Your guests come over, and instead of offering them something to eat or drink, you sit in the back room and wait for them to find you.
You're not making it easy for them to interact with you and your home. So the energy of the party may not feel like it's moving or circulating around.
But when you have a healthy relationship with offering, people feel more willing to engage with you and can take you up on your offers which will feel more fulfilling to you.
Most people grew up believing that it was wrong, bad, and greedy to take things. Somehow, the idea of taking got associated only with taking things that weren't yours. But there is a healthy aspect of taking that can feel good and can support you in developing a strong relationship with your money.
For instance, if you went to college, you TOOK classes. These classes in turn helped you gain knowledge that you may be using in your profession today. When you go to a party and there are drinks and snacks on the table, you may have TAKEN some and put them on your plate. This is a great thing because it gives you sustenance and allows you to feel like you're part of the party. Taking is an appropriate response when something is offered.
Taking has gotten a bad reputation over the years. But taking is a beautiful opportunity for you to give yourself what you want and learn to take in ways that enrich your life and the lives of others around you. The key is to take in a way that's authentic for you, and to clear up any internal blocks that would prevent you from being free to take when something is being offered to you.
When none of the above 4 flows are active within you, you'll find yourself in a place of stillness. How you react to this stillness will be important for you to become aware of. If you feel nervous with the lack of movement, you may hurry into action when none is called for. And if the stillness feels familiar and commonplace, you may have gotten so accustomed to it that you're fearful to take action and get things moving again.
Finding a healthy relationship with stillness is essential so that you can have a balanced relationship with the way money flows in your life.
"I love working with you. I am grateful for your loving, resourceful, and insightful giving to us. Thanks for the support to free my mind from limitation and suffering.
You are an inspiration and a source of modeling of happiness and clarity that is available with in me."
Most people would rather avoid looking at what's not working with their finances. If they could have someone else do the work for them, balance the check books, and just give them a monthly allowance until they died, they'd be quite content to do that.
But the reality is that much of your financial responsibilities are your own. And it's very healthy for you to participate in your own financial life.
As you're getting the courage to look at the relationship you have with money, ask yourself the following questions:
These aren't necessarily easy questions to answer. Taking a look at what's actually going on in your life with money may hurt - not because you're looking at the truth - but because you're wishing that it wasn't true. You wish your situation were different.
But now that you've had the courage to consider that your relationship with your finances might not be serving you as well as it could, you can empower yourself by participating in the Getting into Flow with Money home study course.
A teleclass is a way that people from all over the world can get together to share, learn, and interact - just like in a live workshop. But instead of having to travel, we meet by telephone. Everyone receives a special phone number that will allow us to be on the phone at the same time. You can call in from the comfort of your home or office.
In this particular teleclass series, there will be plenty of opportunities to interact, ask questions, get clarity, and participate.
The first class is on Tuesday, August 21st. There are 4 classes in this series so we'll be meeting by telephone on these consecutive Tuesdays: August 21 & 28, and September 4 & 11.
The time for these calls is each Tuesday at 10 am Pacific (11 Mountain, 12 Central, 1 Eastern, 6pm GMT). They'll last about 75 minutes each.
Nope - it's not too late. Because we have MP3 recordings and detailed materials for all the classes, you can still register for the series and get full benefit from it.
So don't let the calendar stop you from taking this step toward working on your money issues.
No worries. We realize that you may have scheduling conflicts related to work or other activities and we want you to know that even if you aren't able to attend the live calls, you can still register and get the full benefit because you'll receive the detailed notes and the audio recordings for each class.
With each series we offer there are always people who register even though they have scheduling conflicts and they love that they can take in all the material and information at their own convenience through the notes and the recordings. So the reality is that your schedule doesn't have to be an obstacle to you benefiting from this series.
"I work during the day so I can't make the live events. But I never feel like I miss anything because the notes and recordings give me everything I need. On behalf of all the 9 to 5'ers out there, thank you for accommodating us!"
- D.C., New York
