When Working Through it on Your Own Hasn't Worked

One of the things I love about inquiry is that it can be done by yourself. Rather than the answers being "out there," inquiry empowers you to find the answers within.

You can write down your stressful thoughts and walk yourself through the four questions and the turnarounds to find your truth.

Sounds pretty simple, right?

But just because it's a straightforward process doesn't mean that you won't run into challenges with it or feel stuck sometimes.

It happens to the best of us.

In fact, most of the people I work with privately already find it helpful to question their minds on their own. They love inquiry and find that it's the most effective way to come out from under their suffering.

And even though they can do it on their own, they work with me because they appreciate my understanding of the mind, the space we create to go in deep, and the way I guide them gently through their confusion.

When the tough issues arise they know they don't have to struggle through them on their own.

Are you ready for a shift in your reality?

When there are issues that you can't seem to work through on your own, that's when private facilitation sessions can make the difference between your continued suffering and your finding peace.

Although I can only work with a limited number of people at this level of support, I love working one-on-one with people. And I so appreciate the insights and distinctions that arise from our work together that pave the way toward a life with more clarity.

In 2007 I'm looking forward to partnering with people who are truly committed to their freedom. People who are ready for some deep exploration into the beliefs that have been holding them back.

"But my issues are pretty tough," you say...

I know that sometimes your issues may feel too big, or too confusing to work with. Trying to deal with that overwhelm and frustration on top of the stress you were already experiencing can make you want to give up. And it can feel pretty hopeless.

But when we're working together I'll help you find your way through it all - one thought at a time.

I've worked with hundreds of clients individually over the years and I've yet to find a story or situation that could not be questioned to discover more freedom.

What's it like to work with me privately?

Here are some experiences from clients...

Cathy SanchezI felt very safe...
"Thank you for being so patient and calm and accepting when I was so upset.  I felt very safe to explore those very painful and secret thoughts and feelings with you.  It was so helpful.  Thank you,  Mona.  I look forward to doing more work with you."

- Cathy S., California

I laugh and sing which I have not done for a long time...
"I have been talking to Mona regarding some issues in my marriage. I was very angry for the last six months with the way things were. I saw no way I was going to reconcile and was ready to cop out.

With Mona facilitating me I have been able to look at the same issues from a different angle. I am less angry at my husband. I don't harp on the same issues repeatedly. I feel as though she has literally vacuumed my brain. I feel lighter. I laugh and sing which I have not done for a long time."

- S. Sharma, CA

HeidiWorking with Mona is a gift I give myself...
"What I love about being facilitated by Mona is that she helps me find my own truth rather than telling me what she thinks I should do; she actively listens and enables me to undo my painful stories rather than giving me advice and opinions; she offers me her gentle yet strong presence rather than squirming uncomfortably when I cry or speak of painful things. Working with Mona is a gift I give myself."

- Heidi, Cambridge, MA

One can do inquiry alone, but it's a great help to have a facilitator like Mona...
Over the past ten years or so I've seen many professional psychologists and tried various psychological and spiritual techniques on my own in an attempt to overcome problems with depression and anxiety.

While these were of some help, my work with Mona has been truly liberating. I feel as if some deep wounds are finally healing. After only four sessions, my thinking has changed in some pretty remarkable ways, and even when I do feel discouraged now, I know that through inquiry into my thoughts I can always find greater peace and happiness.

One can do inquiry alone, but it's a great help to have a facilitator like Mona. Besides being exceptionally kind and patient, she has an emotional wisdom that is remarkable.

How will I know if I'm ready for this type of focused work?

I know there may be things that you're going through that you don't feel quite ready to deal with. That's totally okay.

But when you're done "settling for what is", and you're really ready to "love what is" - working together with private facilitation might be just what you're looking for.

The best thing to do from here is to read through the Frequently Asked Questions and fill out the form below so that you can tell me about yourself and we can find a time to meet for a free consultation by phone.

As I mentioned, I can only work with a limited number of people at this level of support, so if now is the time for your shifts to take place, please fill in the form below so that we can get in touch right away to see when the next available space is open.

Mona GraysonI'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Private Facilitation Sessions -
Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How often will we meet on the phone? Generally we meet once a week for 3 or 6 months. We can be flexible with the frequency of the calls. You may prefer to meet daily for a week and then take a week off. Or you may prefer 2 sessions a week every other week. We'll find a frequency that matches both of our schedules and will best meet your needs.
  2. What else comes with working with you privately?
In addition to the private phone sessions, you'll also get unlimited email support, assignments and exercises, feedback on your written inquiry, and resources to take your skills with inquiry deeper. It's a blend of the components that I've found to be the most effective in supporting clients.
  3. How does the email support work?
In between our phone sessions you may have questions, thoughts to share, or inquiry that you'd like feedback on. You're welcome to be in touch with me as often as you like and I'll generally respond within 24 hours. This is a great way for us to stay in touch and for you to stay connected to your process during our time together.
  4. What's the time commitment?
Each phone session is 60 minutes long. Beyond that, my suggestion is to do at least 3 pieces of inquiry a week and to submit those to me for feedback. So for each session you'll need an hour, and I'd reserve 3 additional hours per week for your written inquiry.
  5. How do we schedule the time for our sessions?
We'll both look at our calendars to see when we're available. Generally we look for a consistent time each week so it's easy to remember. If that doesn't work, we can be flexible and meet on different days/times.
  6. When it's time for a session, who makes the call?
You'll call me on the direct line that I give you. If you're overseas and we arrange to work with Skype, you'll dial me for those appointments as well.
  7. What if I can't make one of our appointments?
If you're unable to make one of our appointments, please let me know as soon as possible. The first time you miss an appointment we will reschedule it. If you miss another appointment or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice it will count as a used session. Please be prepared to reserve this as special time for you to work toward your freedom.
  8. What preparation do I need to do before our calls?
Please make sure that you're in a comfortable space so that you can relax into the sessions with as little distraction as possible. If you're able to collect some beliefs ahead of time that you want to work with, that's great. If not, that's okay too. We'll identify the stories during the first part of our call. The important thing is that you feel available and ready to move into inquiry.
  9. Are there any prerequisites to working with you?
Before we start working together it's important that you've read Loving What Is, by Byron Katie. It's also important that you've been doing inquiry with some degree of success on your own.
  10. How much does it cost? This will vary depending on the format that will work best for you. We'll be able to have a better feel for this after we meet for our free consultation. Prices range from $500-$6000 depending on how we structure the package. Payment is made prior to sessions and you can use Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover.

Now that you've read about some of the basics, the next step is to fill out the form below. This will give me an idea of what you're going through and then we can find a time to have a free consultation so we can talk things over. And if you have any other questions beyond the FAQ's you can bring them to our consultation call too.
